1. The practice of using points credit cards to purchase cash-equivalent instruments (gift cards, reloadable debit cards, etc.) which are then redeposited somehow to pay off the credit card balance, for the sole purpose of earning points. Many points bloggers talk about the techniques, upsides (points!), and downsides (account terminations) of this practice.
